Third-Party Applications

There are also several third party applications, many of which are free, that provide addtional useful functionality to SDL User community and which we recommend fully.  Many of these services have limited features for free... but also charge more for full-featured versions.  Please consider making a contribution to the SDL User Group general fund if you think we should offer some of these services to our membership at large.

Customized @sdlusers.com Email Addresses

Want to send out email with a @sdlusers.com domain and using the familiar Gmail interface?  I'd be happy to set an account up for you.  Once created, you can access your mail via mail.sdlusers.com or you can configure it to send messages directly to device or application of your choice. Please note that there is currently a maximum of 40 email accounts available (more cost $50/year each), so requests to the SDL User Group webmaster are subject to approval.

Google Docs

The Google Docs application is great for sharing files and collaborating with a select group of other users who also have an @sdlusers.com email account.  There are litterally hundreds of different features of this service, so please visit:  docs.google.com for more information.  As with the cutomized @sdlusers.com email address, there is currently a limit of 40 free accounts available.

Online Polls from Poll Daddy

Another great and free service for creating polls and surveys.  You can link directly to their URLs in a forum topic or ask me for help in embedding into a the SDL Users website, or you can directly email them to people.  Please note that only polls sent by a @sdlusers.com email domain are officially endorsed by the Users Group.  To learn more, please visit:  www.polldaddy.com.

File Hosting and Transfers from MediaFire

A good alternative to Google Docs because you don't have to have an @sdlusers.com account to either send or receive files and you can upload hundreds of files of up to 200MB each for free!  Check out this handy online tour for more info.

For questions about any of these features or to suggest new features, please contact the SDL User Group Webmaster.
